Egyptian-German Joint Committee on Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Environmental Protection (JCEE)
Brief outline
Improvement of Egyptian frameworks and operational conditions for reduction of Greenhouse Gas intensity of electricity supply and demand in Egypt.
JCEE enables sustainable electricity production and consumption in Egypt through supporting measures in renewable energy and improving energy efficiency and
climate change mitigation.
Since 2008, JCEE has been a platform for high-level policy coordination and implementation between Egypt and Germany in the electricity sector. JCEE jointly implements activities with its partner entities in five fields:
➢ Utility-scale Renewable Energies
➢ National Energy Efficiency Strategy
➢ Renewables and Efficiency at the Utility Level
➢ Efficiency Technologies in Industry, and
➢ Climate Finance and Capacity Development.
